The Final Stretch - Week 35 Pregnancy Update

Life has been crazy! As you can probably imagine. My husband has been in and out traveling and spending overnights with students. Our in-laws came down briefly for our 2nd baby shower which was a lot of work! Over 80 people came to celebrate our little man and my mom, in-laws, husband, and my mom's best friend worked their butts off. I helped where I could, but tried not to overexert myself.

My emotions have been on a roller-coaster ride. I wake up some mornings incredibly motivated and joyful, but can switch to melancholy by the end of the day. These emotions are not all that new to me, but the rapid switching back and forth is a more recent challenge.

Friday, I spent the day with a previous student and her mom at Disney. It was an awesome day, but my feet were throbbing by the end. I topped it off with a day of last-minute shopping and organizing for the nursery on Saturday. The nursery is 99% complete. Meanwhile, the busy weekend taught me that my body is running out of fuel. My feet were still swollen Sunday, and the last bit of stretch in my shorts has failed me. It's sweatpants and t-shirts for me now.

The only items left to check off my baby to-do list are to pack my hospital bag and install the car seats. Right now I'm working on finalizing thank you cards and trying to motivate myself to begin planning for the upcoming school year. I'll only be working on Mondays (our school has a unique set up), but there's still a lot to be done. Did I mention I signed up for a professional development course that begins the day of my due date? I'm a little overzealous, but it's online and strangely only a week long. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing yet.

So if you've been wondering why I've been MIA for a few weeks, that may help explain it. A lot of it has been my mood, which is hard to conquer when there are so many other things that I HAVE to do. I hope that Make Life Beautiful will be a place where I can come and have more conversations like this one. Life is full of blessings, and blessings often present their own challenges, but I wouldn't want it any other way. Enjoy the journey beauties!
